Microbiome Background

  • Current research and development on certain diseases, disorders and conditions are still short of finding satisfactory treatment options for, among others, Alzheimer, Autism, Parkinson, Multiple Sclerosis
  • In recent years, medical research worldwide has shown increasing interest in microbiome research and possible links to many diseases
  • Relationships with many of these diseases and conditions through the Gut Brain axis have been detected
  • Although the microbiome could be linked with some of these difficult diseases, a drug product based on the microbiome is still expected to be approved

Approach

  • Develop an unique, innovative and proprietary microbiome metabolic profile Platform and Database
  • Identify microbiome functional metabolic markers associated with specific diseases
  • Use these markers as leads to develop innovative solutions specifically centered on microbiome to improve detection, prevention and treatment of health-related conditions and/or unmet needs of patients
  • Create a microbiome research & development center to develop and operate the Microbiome Metabolic Platform and Database and to manage projects of the Foundation
